What Cosmetic Surgery Were Patients Considering in July?!

The beauty of having a website that provides pricing information for cosmetic surgery, is that patients are very eager to submit a wishlist to get instant answers to their pricing questions. This in turn provides interesting insight as to what cosmetic surgery patients are considering this summer.

In a first in our series, “What Cosmetic Surgery Are Patients Considering?”, we can now definitively pinpoint what patients want at various times of the year. This being the summer, and patients want to be “beach ready,” liposuction was a popular choice. Based on 124 procedures submitted in 67 ‘wishlists’ through the pricing portal on my website, patients were curious about everything from Botox to labiaplasty to breast enlargement through the armpit. But what stood out were tummy tucks, Brazilian butt lifts with fat injections, liposuction and the filler, Radiesse, for the treatment of the parentheses lines.

Theories abound as to why certain procedures are popular this time of year but the summer theory makes sense considering that when added together, consumers were most interested in the cost of liposuction procedures. Liposuction of the neck, arms, abdomen, thighs, knees(!) and ankles(!) accounted for 20 of the 124 procedures in which patients wanted to know the cost. The single most common procedure that consumers wanted to know the price was Radiesse, a calcium-based filler used in the parentheses lines that can last for up to 2 years. Radiesse along with other non-surgical procedures like Botox and Juvederm were very popular. Not unexpected considering their non-surgical nature.

When it comes to non-surgical procedures, I was surprised that one of the rising stars of the non-surgical world, CoolSculpting, was of interest to only 3 patients who wanted to know the cost. If you’re not familiar with CoolSculpting, you can read more here. For a review of all the procedures that were included in consumers’ wishlist in determining cost, please see below.
